Body LabPrivacyTerms

Terms of Service

Effective September 16, 2026

The short version: Body Lab gives training guidance, not medical advice — listen to your body and a clinician over an app. Your data is yours. Don't misuse the service. It's provided as it is, and we'll tell you before these terms change in ways that matter.

These terms are an agreement between you and Boulder Creek Body Lab (“Body Lab”, “we”, “us”) for using bodylab.lol, its API, and its connections to other apps (together, “the service”). By creating an account or signing in, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. Training guidance, not medical advice

Body Lab estimates training load and recovery from the data it has and suggests sessions. Those suggestions are general fitness guidance. They are not medical advice, and they aren't a diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist or qualified coach who knows you.

  • Check with a clinician before starting a new training program, especially if you have a health condition, an injury, or are pregnant.
  • Stop exercising and seek help if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, or anything that worries you.
  • Estimates can be wrong — a device can misread heart rate, a file can be incomplete, and a model is only a model. Use your own judgment about what you do.

Exercise carries risk. You choose what training you do, and you're responsible for doing it safely.

2. Who can use Body Lab

You must be at least 16 years old, and able to agree to these terms where you live. If you're using Body Lab for an organization, you confirm you can agree on its behalf.

3. Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email, so anyone with access to your inbox can access your account. Keep your email secure, give us an address that's yours, and tell us at support@bodylab.lol if you think someone else has accessed your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

4. Your data

You own the data you put into Body Lab, and what's derived from it. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display it only as needed to run the service for you — for example, to calculate your training load, show your history, and pass data to apps you connect. That permission ends when you delete the data or your account, apart from the short-lived backups described in the Privacy Policy.

Only upload data you have the right to use. Don't upload other people's information without their permission.

5. Connected services and apps

You can connect other services to import data, and connect apps (such as AI assistants) to read your Body Lab data. Those services and apps are run by other companies under their own terms, which apply to your use of them. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them — including what an AI assistant says or does with your data. Some connections rely on interfaces their providers can change or withdraw without notice, so a connection may stop working.

6. Acceptable use

Don't:

  • break the law, or use Body Lab to harm anyone;
  • access accounts or data that aren't yours, or try to get around security, sign-in limits or rate limits;
  • disrupt or overload the service, or use automated means to access it except through its published API and connections, within their limits;
  • upload malware or anything you don't have the right to share;
  • resell the service, or present its output as something it isn't.

7. The service, and changes to it

Body Lab is currently free. It's under active development: features will change, some may be removed, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you first, and we won't charge you without your agreement.

8. Ending your use

You can stop using Body Lab and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it. If we ever shut Body Lab down, we'll give you reasonable notice first, and a copy of your data if you ask for one.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Boulder Creek Body Lab won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to US$100. These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you live somewhere that gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, these terms don't take that away.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Each updated version is posted on this page, at bodylab.lol/terms, with the date it takes effect shown at the top.

  • If you keep using Body Lab after an updated version takes effect, you accept that version. If you don't agree to it, stop using Body Lab; you can delete your account at any time.
  • If a change is material, we'll tell you before it takes effect: in the app, and by email where it matters.
  • An update to these terms doesn't, by itself, let us use information you've already given us in a materially different way. The Privacy Policy governs that, and we'll ask you first; continuing to use Body Lab isn't agreeing to it.

What has changed, newest first:

  • September 21, 2026 (Privacy Policy): Body composition scans are now called DEXA scans. The Privacy Policy no longer says which screen or which app to find a kind of data in, since that changes as the app does; what we collect and what we do with it is unchanged.
  • September 20, 2026 (Privacy Policy): Lab results and body composition scans moved out of Settings into a Data section on the web, so the Privacy Policy's directions to them now say Data rather than Settings.
  • September 19, 2026 (Privacy Policy): The Privacy Policy now covers body composition scans, such as DEXA: what we keep from one, that your total mass is also recorded as a weigh-in, that scans never change your training and aren't a diagnosis, and that apps you connect can read or add them only if you tick those permissions.
  • September 18, 2026 (Privacy Policy): The Privacy Policy now covers the beta waitlist: what we keep when you join it, that we email you once when there's a spot, and how to be removed.
  • September 17, 2026 (Privacy Policy): Apps you connect to Body Lab, such as AI assistants, can now read or add your lab results, but only if you tick those permissions when you connect them. They can't change or delete lab results.
  • September 16, 2026 (Privacy Policy and Terms of Service): The Privacy Policy now covers two features you can choose to turn on: estimating today's altitude from where you are, and reading workout routes from Apple Health. It also covers recording lab results from blood tests (what's kept, that they never change your training, and that they're in your data download and deleted with your account), and credits the elevation data used. Both documents now explain how updates take effect, and that we'll ask before using information we already hold in a materially different way.

13. General

If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
